• Height & Style Regulations:

  • Rear Yards: Maximum 6 feet in height.

  • Front Yards: Limited to 4 feet and must be a "decorative" style (like picket or split rail) that is at least 50% open. Chain-link is prohibited in front yards.

  • Corner Lots: To ensure traffic safety, fences on corner lots cannot exceed 3 feet in height within the "visibility triangle" near the intersection.

• The "Finished Side" Rule: City code requires that the "good side" (the side without visible posts or framing) must face outward toward neighbors and the street.

• Easements & Utility Clearances: We ensure your fence maintains a 3-foot clearance from utility pedestals and a 6-foot clearance from transformer access doors.

• Frost-Proof Installation: We sink our posts to a minimum of 36 inches to ensure your fence stays straight and true through West Chicago's freeze-thaw cycles.
